There need be no apprehension that
this regulation will not be strictly
enforced on nil portions of the coast..
Arrangements have already been
made for bringing this about, and
the department is assured of the full
co-operation of the lobstcr fisher-
men themselves.
Before leaving, Mr. Found anticip-
ates having a conference with thc
executive of thc Fish and Game As-
sociation conccrninrr the proper reg-
ulation of thc sport ftsliciiv, and lir-
rnnging for co-opcrntion in its ad-
equate protection.

I Victim Of Sad Ac-

Apparently seized with a cramp
while swimming, Wilfred Nicholson,
Fredericton, was drowned in a mill
pond at Elliots last evening about
8.30.
The deceased, who was about ‘.25
years of age, had been swimming a-
i bout twenty-five feet from the edge
of the pond. Children who were
playing on the bank saw him sud-
denly throw up his hands and
disappear beneath the surface of
the water. The body was recovered
about half an hour later; Two doc-
tors. who were summoned, applied
first aid but their efforts were vain.
The young man was the son of
the late Hugh and Mrs. Nicholson.
He was a graduate of Mount Allison
University from which he received
his B. A. in 1933, and oi' Prince of
Wales College in the class of 1929.
He is survivcd by his mother, two
brothers, J. D. Nicholson, in Western
Canada, and Norman Nicholson, of
Charlottetown, and two sisters, Mrs.
John D. MacDonald, Brookfield, and
Mrs. Hedley MacPherson. Glen Val-
ley.
His psasing came as a severe shock
to his family and to the whole com-
munity. The sad news will be heard
with widespread regret by a host of
college friends who were closely as-
sociated with him at Prince of Wales
and at Mount Allison. At both in-
stitutions he had a splendid record
as a student ,and a brilliant career
was predicted for him.

BY EXPLUSIUN
Mr. Peter MacCaull of Ellersiie,
had considerable damage done to his,
store and its contents on Monday
momlng when large compressed air
tank in his basement exploded. The
explosion was terrific and tore up
three thicknesses of flooring coming
from the basement into the store
making a large hole in the hardwood
flooring. The shelves along the store
walls were tom off and the heavy
beams in the ceiling ripped away.
Merchandise was scattered all over
the place, even out to the street.
Although everyone was consider-
ably frightened at this lmusual oc-
curlcnce, no one was hurt. It is
though that the pump was not shut
off soon enough thus causing the

mony were the statements of Emil
Fey, former Vice-Chancellor and a
member of the Dollfuss govern-1
ment, that as Dollfuss lay dying li.~
asked that one of his political op-
ponents, Dr. Anton Rintelen, be
asked to restore peace to Austria.
Planetta, a sun-burned, vigorous
man, surprised the court by stating
that he had his pistol trained on
another person, and that a jolt to
his elbow thrust the weapon in the
direction of the llttle'Chancellor.
"I was aiming at a big man di-
rectly in front of me-I do not
know who he was-who had just
put up his hands at my command.
Someone dart/ed past me or against
me from behind and my pistol
went off. When I tlurned to see
what had happened I saw the
Chancellor had been struck.
“I asked him 'are you hlt?'
"He answered, ‘I do not know.`
“ 'Then try to stl-1nd,' I said.
"‘I cannot." he answered.
"I was dismayed when I saw
what had happened and ran into
a corridor to call for bandages.
Then I tried to find a surgeon in
the house. Word was sent out for
one, but he never came."
