For two days she was in a dense fog. The passengers were about re- tiring at night when a hand ran below and told them to prepare to leave the ship as she would ground in a few minutes. D. D. Currie vs, The Methodist Couference is now engsging the attention of the New Bruas- Wick Supreme Court. A, A, Stockton and at- torney general show cause agsinst an order nisi for certiorari granted by Palmer, Fe. Oct., 1887, to bi ing up the proceedings of the Methodist conference; A. L. Currie, counsel for D. D. Currie, contends that the conference no jurisdiction to try Currie under the discip ine of 1885; that the case had also gone before another tribunal; that only the confer- ence of 1885 could try the matter; that matter is res judicata, as the wiit of prohibition cuv- ers not only the charge made by Rev.
