The rain preveuted the progress of the play yesterday afternoon, and the game was continued to-day. The prizes will be presented at the park after the play is over this afternoon. In the mixed doubles yesterday Mr. Stewart and Miss Bail defeated Mr. Arnaud and Mrs. Arnaud. The mens’ singles this morning was won by Lloyd, of Sydney, who defeated Hensley, of Windsor. The ladies singles was cap- tured by Miss Burpee, of St. John, who defeated Miss DesBrisay. The finals in the mixed and mens’ doubles are being played this afternoon. The visiting players and their friends were entertained by the local club at a ball at Government House last evening. The attendance was large, and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Dancing began at nine o'clock and was kept up with spirit until about three this morning. The Citizens’ Band provided good music. The ball room was tastefully Yecorated with tennis nets, racquets, etc., and the veran- dah was festooned with flags and awnings. The grounds were prettily illuminated with colored lights.
