Lorne Driscoll. a Summer- side potato dealer, informed The Guardian last night. In fact, due to certain conditions pertaining in Bummer-side, it may be said to have worsened, as some dealers have potatoes sold and have no hope of being able to deliver them to the buyers. Mr. Driscoll explained that eur- licr this fall fifty carioads of po- tstoes had been stored in the warehouse on the Marine Wharf. They had been sold to a buyer in the Southern United States and it was thought they would be ship- ped by water. However. the ex- pected boat failed to arrive and as the warehouses are not frost- proof the dealers are now forced to- so to the additional expense and trouble of removing them to other storage. About three-quart- ers of the amount have been moved already. Mr. Driscoll said. and great difficulty is being me‘ is; finding frost-proof storage for them. - l-Ie said that while these pota- toes are sold there is little hope ofever being able to deliver them in time for planting.
