The reports of fish to-day are as follows : Salmon fishing did very well at Long Point and Mingan, Que. caplin very good at St. John River, Que., and fair at Sole River, a few herring were takiug in nets at Ingonish, C. Tur Monrn’s Work.—During the month of June, closing to-day, forty-one cases were adjudicated upon by His Honor the Stipendi- ary Magistrate, as follows: Abusive language, 1 conviction, 3 dismizsals; assault, ] convic- tion, | dismissal; drunkenness, 18 convictions; breach Lord’s Day Act, 2 convictions; lar- ceny, | conviction, | dismissal; cattle at large, 4 convictions, 1 dismissal; disorderly driving, i dismissal; annoying persons in dwelling, 1 dismissal; nuisance, 2 convictions. Ten cases were sent up for trialin the Supreme Court, The number of drunks for the month of June last year was 19. A good story is told of the Duke of Wel- lington in church: An old lady in humble circumstances chanced to be next the Duke both in a kneeling attitude, and arising from her position, recoguizing the Duke, attempts in an apologetic manner to vacate the seat. The Duke very graciously forces her to be seated by him, remarking ‘*we are all alike here.” This reminds us of how alike people are in their fancies of flowers.
