'Rcsidents of Georgetown be- held a strange sight when day- light broke on Monday morning- when 3 school or some twenty Black Fish were seen in the wat- ers of that part of the harbour. commonly referred to as "The Cove". Some fishermen who still have bouts nfloat put off from the docks and sailed about among the large fish. Many of 111053 fish were reported to be at least twen- ty fact in length and continued during all day to frolick about. the harbour. When dairkncss fell, they had not left for outside waters and fishermen who are familiar with their hahits say they may have some dilficulty in finding the mouth of the harbour. Mink ranchers would have as- sured themselves a large supply of animal feed, it only one of these sea-monsters had been shot or herded ashore, by several boats. Some 15 to 16 years ago a school of these fish entered the harbour River. On that occasion. several were landed by local men. Home. School Meeting Held At Montague A meeting of the Home and School Association was held in the Montague High School last even- ing and was largely attended. The president. Dr. G. S. A. Inman, pre- sided. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Elsie Watterworth. and approved as read. Mrs. Carl Boehner read the report of the ways and means committee. One suggestion was for sponsoring a show at Yeo's Theatre ,in December. and after much discussion it was decided that a committee be appointed to attend to details of such entei- prise. The committee comprises Cpl, Doug George. chairman. Miss Rulby MacLcod. and Mr. Ralph Beck. Mr. Carl Boehner reported that he had been unaible to contact Dr. L. W. Shaw regarding an educa- tional agdrcss as he was out of the Province at present. Plans were discused for invit- ing the parents to see a series of educational films but nothing de- finite was decided at this meet- iiivg. She also mentioned the fine im- proi-ements made in the school for which the Institute was responsible and hoped that the coming year would be as successful, both fin- ancially and socially as the one then closing. The lottery in aid of the Institute was closed at this meeting and the holder of the winning ticket 690 was held by Colin McBeath. Forest Hill to whom the Institute extends sincere congratulations.
