PROPERTY The property of the Company consififs Of 1911508 f0Y` Oil 0-H41 KM 0! &b0Ut 25,000 ncrcr il the best oil landsin the Lake Ainslie District, County til In\'eriies-s, .Tape Breton. This district has ,been known for years to be an oil district. Recently Mr. F. H. Stover, who is rightly considered to lm ONE OI" '_"*`.lE BEST OIL EXPQERTS IN AMERICA, examined the PTO- pcrty, and after a thorough' andsciarcliing cixamination his opinion ol thc possibilities ol this propertyis contained ‘in the following report: Charlottetown, August 2nd, 1909. To the Directors of the Maritime Oil & Gas Company Limited; Dear Sirs,~- _ beg to say that Ihave thoroughly examined the pro- perties helil- under lease by yourcompany for oil and gas, and as a. result of \`~c cmniination I beg toreport:- Ist. I aimi familiar with the oilregions of Pennyslvania, West Virgin- ' nia, Ohio, and Ontario, having operated largely in these districts for the last tivienty-live years. 2nd. IN MY OPINION LAKE AINSLIE DISTRICT SHOWS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME INDICATIONS OF OIL AS APPEAR-ED IN OIL CREEK IN PENNSYLVANIA, WHICH HAS BEEN TAHE (ll{EA'l‘ES'I‘ OIL PRODUGING DISTRICT IN AMERICA. (lil (‘reek was the only district where oil in any quantity was to he foundseeping from the rocks, and in the Lake Ainslie District the same conditions are to be found. The oil is seeping fronii the rocks on the shorcyof the Lake. The difference between the two districts is that the oil sand rock in the Lake Ainslie District is thicker, and hence more liable *tobe a better producing oil sand. I HAVE' TAKEN SAMPLES OF THEOII. AS I'I`| COMES FROM THE ROCK, and I iind that the oil is ofa very high lubricaiting quality, and will require but little refining tomake it a very valuable lubricating; oil. I CONSIDER THAT THERE IS M) QUESTION OF THE EXIST- ENOE OF A VERY LARGE QUANTVFIZ-‘ OF OIL AND GAS IN THIS l’I~lOI’lCI{T\', and the prospects ofstriking oil upon the Company’s pro- perty are of the very best. Yours truly F. H. STOVER. After the examination Mr. Stoverimr‘ediate1y_became financially inter- ested in the Company, and has ac opted the office of President and General liilanaiger of the Company. The f'~my~ tiny proposes to drill several wellsi upon this property nt once, and for that purpose arr- angements have been made wit¥..v.icssrs. Stover Bros, oil contractors, to place a first-class drilling ei,u', :uint upon the property, ‘this much can he said-it is the very best equipment 1'/osslble to ob’tarln for this purpose, and it is such that thecontractors guarantee that under the conditions such as they expect tofind in Lake Ainslie their equipment will* drill ii well to the depth ofthree tliqusand feet in two months. STOCK. Mr Alexander G. Baillie, of Port!-Iastings, is a Trustee for a certain portion of the compnny‘s stock, which is offered for sale for the purpose ol development.
