PIT RENOVATIONS COMPLETE by Laura. Kilfoil On Sept 13, the Pit was fi- ally opened. However, very few eople were there to see it. They lere most likely getting their orning coffee at the Vet College r cafeteria, thus flooding these ther Marriot facilities. The opening was delayed by e contractors as construction lways sees to run into these little oldups. The contractors had an- cipated being done by the third eek of August. ET TET TIT LET The Pit itself has a brand new and brighter appearance, but the food items are relatively the same. The food service hopes to build on the new amount of space for the display of food. A Minute Maid juice dispenser has | been added to the Pit already. The overall costs of the reno- vations has been a shared cost be- tween Marriot Corporation and the University. This will not af- campus. The new changes’ were sparked by the need for such a fa- cility in the Pit. What started off as just a coffee cart, grew over the years to include sandwiches and muffins and now is set up prop- erly to accomodate the volume of business taken in. In the summer months,m the Pit will also serve as a luncheon area, and be open for other special conference func- tions As for a drive-thru, well ev- fect the price of the food here on erything is still expanding! Question: What began as a mere coffee cart and now sports almost everything except a drive-thru? Answer: The Newly renovated Pit.
