When he got to the place the man was ,lying down but there was no sign of the horse or wuggon. Mr. Mc- Phail wont to Mr. Coles and got him to go back with him to where he had seen the man. When they got back an automobile had in the meantime come along and deceased was staini- ing up alongside. He recognized Mr. McPhail\when be camo up and shoon hands with him. Mr. Mcl-"hail wanted him to go along with him but he rc- fused. Mr. McPliail wcnt home after this and loft deceased with Mr. Coles. Tile auto had left before this. Mr. Coles gave similiar evidence adding that he after deceased had refused to go to Mcl‘hail's _.ho had tried to get him to go to Mr. McDonnld`s. He walked about 200 yards with him then got stubborn claiming someone had taken some- thing from him. He then tried to persuade him to go to his` cousln's-Mr. Gordon McKin- non‘s. After all persuasion had failed witness then left him ten or fifteen yards from McD0nald's gate. ’ The night wng dark. and the light was shining from Mr. Cole‘s home ll- cro-ss the stream. lt is supposed that deceased not knowing the locality started to walk towards this light and there being no fence between him and the water hc must have fallen into the rivcr and been drowned. A verdict was rendered of death by accidental drowning in Clyde Riv- or. Deceased was the son of Mr, Nell McKinnon of Riverdale. - Besides his parents there are loft to mourn several brothers.
