Lucy Maud Montgomery Cup The UPEI Debating Society is host- ing the fourth annual Lucy Maud Montgomery Cup, Atlantic Canada’s pre- miere debating event, on the weekend of February 19-21, 1999. Through L.M. Montgomery’s liter- ary works, we have enjoyed her scope of imagination which was inspired by the magic of Prince Edward Island. It is here that imaginations will merge into what will be an unforgettable debating experience. The public is invited to the final round of public speaking and debate on Sunday, February 21, 1999 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at LEADERSHIP AWARDS ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19" 1.Students eligible for a Leadership Award must be full-time students who have satisfied the entrance require- ments to the University or who have passed at least eight three-semester hour courses in the previous year of study. 2.Awards will be given to students who have made, are making, or have demonstrated the potential for mak- ing a significant leadership contribution to University life. 3.An award may be given to a student “ogg rue in University athletic activities, but only if the student demonstrates significant leadership ability through his/her participation. 4.An award may be received once by an individual. 5.Nominations for awards may be made by students,faculty or staff of the University. 6.Recipients for the awards will be chosen by a Com- mittee approved by the President of the University.
