The Cadre + 23 March 1999 NOTICES 19 Campus Notice Board Emergency Medical Situations on Campus Occasionally, an accident or medical emer- gency occurs On campus involving a student, a faculty or staff person, or a member of the pub- lic visiting the University. These occasions arise despite the hour of the day or the day of the week Thus, the purpose of this communication is to advise faculty and staff on the process to follow for emergency situations that may arise on campus. If you identify any individual in a medical crisis (for example, injury or accident, seizure, fainting spell, asthmatic attack, chest pain), call the Security Department at 566-0384. A Secu- rity Office will be dispatched to your area. All the Security Officers are trained in First Aid measures and CPR techniques. The Security Officer will assess the situa- tion and implement further measures as required, including suggesting or assisting the individual to access medical care or call an ambulance. The books are free for 1998 gradu- ates and cost $10 for anyone else who Is interested. The books can be picked up at the Barn or the Year- book office (Main 09). Also, the deadline for submissions of Grad Photos (March 31“, 1999) is fast approaching. Photos can be submitted to the Yearbook office at any time. Prings Fan Schhlaship = Amount: $500.00 Eligibilty: A student must be enrolled or ac- cepted for enrolment as a full time law student at an accredited university law school for the aca- demic year 1999-2000. Proof of enrolment or acceptance for enrolment for the 1999-2000 aca- demic year must accompany the application. Method of Selection: A committee selected by the Council of Law Society of Prince Edward Island shall determine the recipients of the schol- arship each year. Criteria: Awarding of the scholarship is based on scholastic attainment in the previous one (1) year of academic study and demonstrated finan- cial need. The Dr. Lorne M. Bonnell Bursary, valued at $250, is offered to a student proceeding to graduate studies in Medicine (preferably born in Prince Edward Is- land and preferably a resident of King’s County or Southeastern Queens - Wood Islands, Belle River) The Mr. Justice Mark R. MacGuigan Memorial Scholarship, valued at $500, is offered to a student proceeding to graduate studies, preferably in Law. The Dr. LI. Duffy Memorial Award, valued at $500, is offered to a student proceeding to graduate studies in Denustry. The W. Chester S. The Arlie Parks Scholarship is available in memory of Dr. Kenneth MacIntyre to a UPEI graduate stu- dent who has been accepted for the study of medi- cine at a University or Medical School or College which in the opinion of the President and Academic Vice-President of the University is qualified for that purpose.
