The death of Mr. Elmei Atiaiiis. which sad event occurred on April 25th.. in Prince County Hospital. calls to mind the beautiful and pathetic words of the P091 Death is at all times sad. but when it comes so suddenly, especially to one on the threshold of manhood. it is indeed overwhelmillg. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Adams of Elmsdale and but twenty-five years of all?- Three years ago he married Miss Marjorie Doyle of Bloom- field. in Toronto, then returned to his native Elmsdale where he purchased a farm. Besides his farm duties he suc- rcsslully operated a truck. and by his sterling character. hones- ty and integrity won the respect and confidence of all with whom he had business relations. Pos- sessed of a cheerful personality and a keen sense of humor. Elmer was a general favorite with the olrl as well as the young. Although not enjoying the best of health for ii brief period, he carried on his duties, until on the ct advice of his doctor he entered Hospital a week and a half prior to his death. Following treatment there. he underwent surgery, which failed to restore his health, despite expert medical skill and kind nursing. From that time he realized his condition was serious and his words and deeds could be summed up in the sentence. 'Not my will 0 Lord. but Thine be done." ' The funeral seriicc was held at the Elmsdale United Church. on April 28th.. and was conduct- or by Rev. Alexander McDowell. assisted by Rev. Albert Lewis. Hymns sung were: ”.lesus. Savi- our Pilot Me." and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus." A duel - ”Shall we meet beyond the river" was rendered by Messrs. Alvin Ashley and Russell Leard. The large number of friends and relatives who came from far and near to attend. as well as the many and beautiful floral tri- butes. and the large uiiiuut-i' of memorial Bibles placed in loving memory. all hear silent testimony of the esteem in which the de- ceased was held.
