Anthony Andrews, drunk and disorderly, on complaint of Captain Lane, was discharged. A row occurred on board the barque Isabella on Saturday night. A Norwegian sailor named Andrews,who wielded a belay- ing pin without mercy during the affray, was arrested. He appeared before the Magistrate this morning. There being no plaintiff he was discharged. It will reflect much credit on Island workman- when exhibited on the streets of St. John. AN elopement took place from Malpeque Road on Sunday morning. At an early hour, a girl named Campbell residing with her aunt at the above named place, left in &@ very mysterious manner in company with a servant man named Wilsop. Miss Camp- bell is a girl of fifteen summers, while Mr. Wilson is six or seven summersolder. They were pursued very closely on departure by a cousin of Miss Campbell’s, but left his sight at the borders of this city. On his arrival, enquiries were made at all quarters, but he failed to discover their whereabouts. He acquainted the police of this matter,and all on duty went immediately on their trail. A watch was placed at the steamers, which were to leave this morning, and all crafts capable of carrying a female passenger were searched. The Provincial Secretary’s Office is strictly watched. No marriage license has yet been issued, and all J. P.’s and P’s are ‘warned not to perform the marriage cere- mony. Nothing has yet been heard of them.
