The fire was discovered about .030 A.M. and due to the impass- able roads. no fire fighting equip- ment could be brought either from Summersldc or the R.C.A.F. statlor. to battle the blaze. Neighbors gath- crcd from the surrounding district and did all that could be done to rsslst but were unable to prevent the complete destruction of the home. There was a fairly high wind blowing at the time. fortun- eir-ly not in the direction of the adjacent farm buildings which were not endangered. some furniture and clothing were saved but most of the contents of the house were lost. In attempting to fight the fire and also to save some of his be- longings, Mr. Yco was overcomr and Dr. Austin Delaney of Sum- merside was called to attend to him. It was found necessary to open the road by plow before Dr. Delaney could get to the patient. The home was a two storey wooden structure, in good repair. It is understood that there was some insurance but nevertheless the loss sustained by Mr. Yeo will be heavy. MARGATE W. M. S. -The January meeting of the Margate W.
