Some Pretty Styles that Combine *im- plicity with Dressiness-A Becoming Collarette—Liouse Waists for Economy. There are many pretty styles for school gowns this fall combining um plicity with as much dressiness a+ is needed for a dress to study in,and which yet must look neat and natty in goin to and from school. One of the best models is seen in the first cut, which has a becoming and novel stvie of coliarette. This add tion is not only pretty, but on mild days Is quite warm enough to protect the shoul- ders and do away with the necessity for acape. The front and back of the gown are gathere iat the neck and lower edges The and fitted upon smooth linings. back linings are shaped with side forms. he collarette is cut in two sections and is Open in the middle beth of the iront and back. In writing of girls’ school wear, we would by all means recommend the use f blouse waists and of independent waists, and this with a view not only to comfort, but to economy. Almost any skirt wiliserve for wear with a neat | blouse waist, either covered by the skirt in its lower part and having a thong belt, or with the skirt portion visible. The infinite variety of materials in which these really pretty and becoming waists are worn gives the utmost facil- ity for a befitting choke, Red, whether in flannel, cloth or satine, is a well- wearing color fora girl’s sch ol blouse and quite rivals blue as chosen for thie purpose. The skirts of blouses are lengthened, and as a preity effect of smocking is re- turning to use, this will make the Llouse even prettier, if possible, than it now is, The lengthening of the skirts will cause them to look well worn on the outside of the dress skirt.
