Women's Institute, Rocky Point,
has most generously offered same
to the ladies to be set up again and
auctioned oil to further augment
their funds. Mr. Gordon was much
pleased with his good fortune, and
his kindly act is indeed appreciat-
ed by the Institute. -
RINGWOOD INSTITUTE
Ringwood Women's Instltiite held
the usual monthly meeting on
Saturday evening, Sept. 2nd. at the
home of Mrs. Ernest Currie, with
the members of their sister Insti-
tute, Fairview, as their guests. The
meeting opened by singing the In-
stitute Ode and repeating the
Creed in unison.. The members
each responded to tho roll call with
a joke. After the usual routine of
business, reports of Committees,
etc., the event of the _evening took
place. lottery of it quilt made by
_the members. The Vice-President
of Fairview Institute oillclated,
drawing the winning ticket. A pin
could be heard drop as all eagerly
listened for the winners name to
be read out. The lucky recipient
proved to be Mr. J. P. Gordon. The
sum realized was over thirty dol-
lars, which _ is being devoted to
charitable purposes, Af, this meet.
ing two dollars was voted to be con-
tributed to dental clinics, and a
like sum was paid for a cake do-
nated to Fairview Institute for a
lottery in aid of their fund for a
new schoolhouse. The entertain-,
ment consisted of a humorous
reading by Miss Austlna Mulch, a.
contest, “Things our Grandmothers
Misded" and Selections on the
tlmmophone. A dainty repost was
served by the members, and the

the helpful attitude of Ringwood

tion as the first step towards the
best in citizenship-co-operation
in the work "For Home and Coun-
try." Mrs. John MacMillan, in her
usual gracious manner, followed
with a few remarks along the same
