A handsome new pulpit wan iilavcd
in St. Pet.er's Catliedrnl lust weeir,
and was used for the first time yes-
terdwy. It was' designed' by W. C.
Harris, architect, aindi is -.n keeping
with the Reredos, Choir Stalls arid
Rood-screen, and* adds vnry much
to. the wppearwncc of the i,hurc'.i. The
body and base of the pulpit are of
quartered oak, with ea/wed panels of
mahogany. T-he corni/ce and' suibase
have also carvings in the lnttur wood.
On one of the lower paineln is a brass
tablet, bearing* the following inscrip-
tion: “'l‘o the Glory of God, at-d in
Loving Memory of Mar-lon Cisrnplbell
Simpson, 1821-1907. Jesus Marcy."
The pulpit is the gift of Miss Jessie
Simpson, -and was made in the work.-
shop of George Gsudin, the wood-
` wcirk being executed by Oban. E. _ 
Carson, and- the carving hy Wim.
Whitlock. The Sanctuary of the
Memorial Chapel has also received
iurthcr adornment. Last year the'
seven niches above the agnirlwere til-

niches on the right and left of the
