c o n ' f f r o m divided from within, thereby reducing or eliminating our effect- iveness as a representative student organization. Working as a unit, we can accomplish great things. All it takes is desire, cmvicticn, and leadership. I hope everybody looks forward to next year with these things in mind. It could be a very good year. ' Sincerely, V Kevin Gauthier Dear Editor: I would like to extend congratulations to you and members of your staff for publishing a very fine newspaper. Many of your articles and regular features relate campus . news and I happen to agree with the point that this W is one of the main = reasons for having a UPEI paper. The art work, V graphics and layout, continues to improve with each edition. Perhaps I one issue which deserves special mention is due Winter Carnival issue. 'lhe layout and design was topnotdi; 'Jhe UPEI SUN is far superior to the CADRE in both quality and content. You have proven that through and hard work, campus publications can please the majority of the university community. Your efforts are appreciated even though this appreciation may only be expressed to you occasionally. I will look forward to a few more issues before the end of the semester. Once again, congratulations and keep up the good work. Yours truly, James F. Griffith Director Student Services Dear Editor, I would like to comment on O.A. Joseph's letter in which he criticized a student who perceived Mr. Anobi's long article on his hopes for a more nature student union as a campaign O.A. Joseph is justified in giving Mr. Amobi credit for having sacrificed, his time and energy in writing the article. Mr. Amobi deserves the credit but this does not alter the trend of events that took place prior to the electicms. Mr. Amobi's p.4 article, which was the first he ever had published in the SUN, appeared a few days prior to the elections. He was also, during the Same period of time, a contestant. Was this a coincidence or were the cycle of events well timed? No one but the person concerned can answer these questims and nor is. he required to give an answer. Perhaps, had Mr. Amobi's article been on general information con- cerning other aspects of university events, other The U.P.E.I. Sun, Thursday, March 23, 1978, page 5 than the student union elections, then perhaps it would not have been perceived as a campaign Speed'l. For these reasons the student who perceived Mr; ‘Amobi's article as a campaign speech is also justified. Mr. Amobi won the elections because he was smart and he deserved it because of his hard work. A. MacDonald. Dear Editor, Sane of the material included in your last two issues on the topics of abortion and the seal hunt goes beyond the bounds of propriety and good editorial judgment, in my opinion . In particular, the pieces entitled "Diary of an Unborn Child" and the "Ballad of the Unborn" sink below any acceptable standards of argument on the issue and are nothing but emotionalist propoganda. No matter how you feel about the issue, it retains true that putting the mouth of words into a fetus or CON’T 01V PAGE 7 In 3r .4 HANG GLIDEBS‘ AND KODIAK BOOT .Yn ml W m tally lonn M mm yam mm. m Ind MW! numb". as WIS your Trsmfl sue ._ . .XL: MALE.
