Sie,—The article which appeared in | Saturday’s issue concerning the school system, ought to be enough to settle the question in favor of the two sessions, with out further discussion. Of course there, are two sides to every subject, and numer ous ideas, objections, &c, to bring forward, which when considered make things ap- pear in a different light. One correspondent objeets to the two session system on account of the children coming home and going back to school with damp élothes on, the:.time allowed not being sufficient to have them thorough ly dried. On the other hand they come home at two, and after they have their din ner do they stop indoors until their clothes ar2 dry? If they did so during the winter months it would be almost dark before they went out again. Now where is the difference? Is itnot much better to go back to school where it is warm than to stop out in the cold with their damp clothes on? As for considering the convenience of the teachers as previously mentioned. Why, where is there a class of workera who have more leisure hours and holidays at their dis- posal? They have from the last of June to the first of September or thereavouts to doas they please, and being paid at the same time, while others are working hard in stores and in other places. Why, it would Le a grand change, if only for the purpose of keeping them employed. As “Parent” suggests, let the majority rule.’ Asa matter of fact that will be the termination. 3ut how are we to find out on which side the majority lean+? I would suggesta@hat at the next council election the matter be settled by a plebiscite being taken. In the meantime Jet us have more public opinion. But there is an easy way for everyone to keep comfortably warm’ in spite of wintry blasts Just havea layer of Fibre Chamois put in your coats or jackets and then go out and defy the bleakest winds and raw, damp _ air.
