Where We Fit is a ser- ies inflgurated by the Stu— ‘dent Union to find out where we really do fit in the Stu- dent Union, in the Universi— ty, in the Community, in the society. Regular'Thursday afternoon sessions will be held in the Barn from 12-4, the first two hours consist— ing of entertainment. The plans for the series are still tentative. 0n Thurs _0ct. 23, the executive will be there to answer questions They have now been in office for six months. Let's ask them questions— questions such as...-What's the use of a Student Union? Can we get along without it? What hap—e pens to our forty dollars? Have these five people the ' right tospeak for us? Where do We fit in Student Union? The second session deals with the university and the community. We have invited Premier Campbell to to come» to the Barn and talk about what the role of the univer— sity is on the "Island". Let us ask him what he feels the role of the student is on P.E.I. What can we do as the Island University for the Island? What can the Island do for us? Where do we, as students, fit into the com- munity? Do we play a vital role? Let's ask/our Premier. For the third week, we have invited the Student Services people to come to the Barn. I'- The last session before the "finale" deals with stu- ldents, in particular women, in society. What is the role of the women in the univer— sity and in the society?Why is it that the Senate, Board of Governors, and Student Union are predominantely male? We are trying to in— vite someone from a rape criSis centre and someone who is knowledgeable about abortions here in Charlotte- town to answer our questions. The first four sessions are warm-ups. On Nov, 20th we are going to try and stage an all—day teach—in. The Aims and Objectives Report is out ~and has touched directly or indirectly on the preceed— ing topics. If implemented, this report is going to have a.major impact on, the stu— dents at U.P.E.I. Last year we talked about where we felt the university should be going. Now the committee ,has defined it - What's our reation? Where do we fit ac— cording to the report? Is that where we really want to fit? , What has been outlined is a tentative schedule. Noth- ing has been finalized. LaSt year the sessions in the Barn were great. We had a chance to say our mind. That's what the intent of the Where We Fit series is, to let people who are making rules for us find out how we feel about things.
