DO YOU. THINK THE SOC/ANTH CLUB SHOULD SHOW THE MOVIE ‘‘CANNIBAL WOMEN IN THE AVOCADO JUNGLE OF DEATH?’’ Sure! Why not, it’s only a movie, ifit were men there would not be aword mentioned. If it’s a fictitious movie it should be taken as one and not something offensive. Relax and enjoy it. Stop trying to make a fuss and read something into it. Andrea Pushka, Business I Those who want to see it should be able to as long as it does not promote hatred. Freedom of speech should be upheld. Karine Matthews, Engineering III If you want to see the movie, go for it. I did not see the movie, butas long as it does not show hatred to women, because I think men and women are equal. Jasmine Doucette, Secretarial Arts This isa very controversial issue and very touchy subject for some people. I think the movie should be optional to students and no one should take thatright away of anyone wishing to view it. Anonymous, Anthropology I I think no one can stop them from showing the movie because it is the student’s choice to go and watch it or not. I myself, would like to watch it. It sounds very interesting. Dave Connolly, Anthropology I I agree that people should be able to watch what they choose, but with this freedom also comes responsibility. Institutions of higher learning must be willing to accept academic responsi- bility as part of freedom of expression. This movice is fictitious and therefore has no concrete Anthropological value. It does, however, perpetuate negative stereotypes of feminism. What is the value in that? Heather J. Morrison, English IV ... continued from page 12 and Iam aware of your sick contribution to our ailing society and I'll see to it that you don’t succeed. Ona brisk note, the girl made it home safely, thank God. To the girl and all other girls like her, I apologize on behalf of the male species, for our attitudes toward females, but that would be redundant since it takes only a few ‘‘assholes’’ to ruin another’s trust in men, because there are decent men out there who are honourable and caring, loving and sensitive. It’s unfortunate how a few (or many) could ruin everything for the ones who truly care. I can still picture the girl and her face as if she was saying, ‘‘Damn right I’m scared ... Help me.’’ @
