Speaking of the GEM, I would ‘like’ to welcome our two new co- editors Dawnne Chappelle ‘and Cora-Lee Desroches to the newspaper staff. They replace our past editor Der- rick Webber who did an out- standing job last year and all indications point to our new editors of being equally suc- cessful. Oh yes, before finish- ing this first article I should tell you that I’ve changed my name back to Murphy from Reeves and I hope that it doesn’t cause and confusion. Until next week, remem- ber that the search for the green begins with you! VP Communications Well, another summer has come and gone, and this ‘one seemed to scoot by faster than the previous summer. Since we cannot do much about the past, accept re- flect, lets make sure the fu- ture entails everything we ‘want and hope for. A sure way of achieving this is by getting involved in the Stu- dent Union and life on cam- pus. By the way, my name is Paul Griffith and hold the newest position on the SUC, Vice-president of Communi- cations. This position was created to better the com- munications and awareness on campus, between the Stu- dent Union and the univer- sity community. Since this is a new position, I am looking for suggestions, ideas, and opinions on what you think the duties of the VPC should entail as well as any new ar- eas this position should get involved in. So please stop by the desk or anywhere else you might see me and we can have a chat. Have a good one! Sincerely Paul Griffith CON nse METHINKS THAT, MAY Nor HAVE, Thursday, September 1, 1988
