I have consented to place myself in nonl-
ination in the forthcoming Mayoralty Coil-
test, in compliance witll the requisition pre-'
sented to me signed by some three hundred
of the electors of Chai'lottetown.
If elected to that honorable position I
pledge myself to do my utmost as Chief
Magistrate to promote any forward move-
ment that the progressive electors of
Charlottetown may agree upon, such as
City Ownership of Public Utilities, Street
Tramway or Motor Bus Service, the estab-
lishing of an up-to-date Fire Alarm sys-
temandbetter equipping the Fire Depart-
mcnt, assisting the Board of Trade in se-
curing better transportation scrvices and
many other concessions which are so much
needed to improve conditions. _ _
‘ I further wish it to be distinctly under-
stood that I shall to the utmost of my abili-
ty promote conditions which will be more
favorable to the wage-earning population
of our City. _ ` ._
I further-promise to encourage and use
every endeavor to induce capitalists to es-
tablish permanent industries so_ as to give
employment to larger numbers of our citi-
