E. I., and in Somer- ville, on March 5th, Mary McKenna, wife of James McKenna and daughter of the late John Farrell, of P. E. I. NEXT Friday night, March 2nd,in the Skating Rink, there will be a night of Junior Hockey. Admission only 10c. The Anchors will play the Y. M. C. A. club and the West Kent will play the Junior Abegweiis. There will be_ no fooling and these youngsters, they al- ways play the game for all it is worth. These are the coming hockeyists of our city and it will be worth while to see them play. THE Loyal Crusaders had 9. royal time last evening with Orient Division of the Sons of Temperance. The Division room never was so crowded. The programme consisted of temperance songs, recitations and a first class dialogue. At the close short compli- mentary addresscs were given by Messrs Mellish, Crabbe. Ross and Hodgson, after Which the 95 children present re- newed their pledge of total abstinence and the meeting closed in due form. Miss Annie Elliott made an excellent organist. A LARGE and fashionable audience assembled at the Opera House last even- ing to witness the thrilling four aet drama,A Celebrated Case, presented by the B. l. S., under the distinguished patronage of the Lieut. Governor. The scene of the prologue of this play took place in the village of Montague, sup- nosed to be the day after the battle of Foiitenoy. The scene of the remain- ing four acts was laid near Toulon. France and the different actors took their paris admirably. Mr. William Brown, who was the hero of the even- ing; Mr. P. J. Trainer who perssnaled Count D. Aubeterre and ~ Miss Ida Doyle each acted with exceedingly good effect. Mr. Patrick McQui1lan kept the audience in continuous laughter during his every appearance. Little Rosa 'Ryan showed good talent in the part taken by her,a_nd in fact all performed very creditably. Prof. Vinnicombe’s orchestra rendered several sweet Irish melodies and the League of the Cross Band also _furnished some appropriate music during one of the scenes. The nianagement are de- serving of congratulations for the man- ner in which this play was presented and no doubt a lull house would greet them on another appearance. YESTERDAY morning at 9.30 a large number of the B. I. S. and the A. O. H., preceded by Galbraith’s and the League of the Cross Band, left the B. I. S. hall on Kent Street, paraded down Queen and along Richmond to Great George, thence to St. Dunstan’s Cathedral,where solemn High Mass was sung by Rev. A. P. She left`Tign1sh at 2.35 and owing to snow'-drifts in the cuttings between Tignish and Bloomfield did not _reach here until about midnight. The train from Charlottetown was two and a ball hours late in arriving at Tignish. All the other trains on the P. E. I rail- way had no dilliculty.
