shown itself to be a colder month than
the preceeding one-January. Oo I6
days the temperature fell below zero, the

month reaching only eleven degrees and
one-tenth above zero.
Though a very cold month and consid-
ered by some to be unprecedented it Ia In
reality not so, for I have been shown by
Mr. Cundall the dniiyrecords of February,
1858, which show 17 days at and below
zero, and only on one day, the last day of
the month, was the temperature above
the freezing point. The lowest recnrdel
