The speakers on the affermative aide of the sub- ject, were:-Captain wr. Wilbur Stavart, with Mrs. R.. 17111871011, Earle MacMurd° and Mr. Prank Jardine. On the Negative side, were:-Captain Mill Florence MeoCsu1l, with Mrs. Carruthers .After listening to well prepared speeches by each of the said speakers, the Judges, Rev. J. W. and the surplus on the af- sldee found the surplus on the af- side. The speakers, are to be con- gratulated for the 'splendid speeches made and expressed in such an interesting and instructive man- at this debate. The North Bcdeque Young Peoples Society is rapidly progressing morally and intellectu- ally, unclei- the honorary leadership ‘of Rev. J. W. A. Nicholson. Owing to the bad storms inrecent weeks and the consequent mild spell ;the roads in this vidinlty are any- thing but pleasant to travel on. The morning service of the Cen- tral Bedeque Baptist was quite larsely attended, despite the' bad roads. Rev. `A. G. Crowe, pastor, book for his ,subject "A study in the Paralbles" and gave a wonderful discourse, to 'his many licarcrs. Sunday School followed the service and there was a good attendance. The regular song and preaching service in the evening was received by a fairly large congrega- tion. Thc pastor took as his subject "Jesus on Trial." Mr. crows in his discourse explained the life of "He- rod", at his superficial religion, and impure life, and, how members of the church who have their names down on the Honor Holi, in some 'cases have just this same superificial religion. Everyone needs Jesus, Him, and living a true and Chris- tian life, that in our work or play, H.: will be with us, comforting and helping, forgiving our sins and \ contented with life. In cloa- lng the congregation joined' the choir in singing "Wtuhcd in the Blood of the Lamb" _that beautiful hymn which expresses the desires and wishes of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Mrs. Earle Leard, or- ganist and choir director. The Womens Institute of Kelvin met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Caseiey, on March 3rd. The special entertainment for the everr ing was the form of a history of Kelvin and its early settlers, from that time up to the present time.
