Seats for the widely heralded “The
_White Feather" will go on sale at the
box oillce at the Prince Edward Thea-
' tre this morning. The play is toun-
ded on facts and the result is a story
more intense and exciting than any fie-
tielous narrative could be and there is
a delightful sentimental interest as
well. 'Phe' scene is »a small seaside
resort overlooking the North Sea with
four German spies endeavorlng to com-
pass tlie destruction of a British lined-
ron_)iy wireless signals, carrier pid-
geons and other devices. The manner
in which Kit Brent, seid to be won-
derfully plsyed by Albert Brown, who
poses as a silly ass and who receives
a white feather from a girl of his ac-_
quaintalnce, foils the German plans.
.ls at once thrilling and humorous_
As has already been stated in ithese
columns the original title of the play
is "The Man Who Stayed At Home"
and as such is still playing in London
In its nineteenth month, but_lt was de-
cided ihat "The White__.Feather" was
the better title for the States and Ca-
nada. There is nothing in the play
to mar the sensibilities of anyone in
the sllghest degree and after the play
ls witnessed it will readily be seen
that no better title could have been
chosen.

A parcel arrived for your son Geo.
while he was on leave to London and
when we discovered it contained socks
to be distributed among the soldiers
of the Princess Pats. I took the pleas-
ure of doing so. _
We cannot begin to describe to you
the comfort we have derived from
those beautiful warm socks especially
just now owing to the wet condition
of the trenches.
Our regiment wishes me to thank
those ladies of the Alma Red Cross
Society for their generous gift and es~
pecially to a Mrs. Donald Ramsay,
Montrose, whose name we discovered
on three different pairs donated to the
society by her. We all congratulate
this lady on her beautiful work as they
were certainly grand. I also- congratu-
late you for giving such a dns noble
type of manhood as Geo. to light for
his King and country, and must say
he is a general favorite with us all, al-
ways so genial and cheerful no mutter
what the situation la.
I have also had the pleasure of meet-
ing Messrs Buxton and Bowness as I
enlisted from McGill in the same Co_,
being a student there for two years,
but decided it was my duty to _take
_my place among those young men for
the -'defence of my King and country.
Being of Nova Scotia birth it has
