surfaces in eastern Canada. No
expense has been spared by the
cillb officials in this regard and
they inay look with satisfaction at
the results obtained to date.
llnprovemeuts have not only
been made to the courts. but also
to the club--house. which is being
rcuovrlied and modern convenien-
ces installed.
Club nicmbcrs who have been
working ollt at intervals during
the past month are expected to
attend the formal season inaug-
ural in large nllnibers this after-
noon and many interesting rnat-
ches are allticipated.
The singing of the 1937 Eastern
Canadian Clmnlpionslilps here in
August has stimulated interest in
the alrend_\' popular net game and
a banner season looms for the

In looking back in retrospect ii
has bccn recalled that the Char-
lottetown Club is one of the oldest
institutions of the province dating
back to May 2. 1883 when it was
organized under the nnme of the
Micniac Tcnnis Club. Ii was not.
