'The regular monthly meeting of the Young Women's Guild of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Montague, was held at the Manse Monday evening. November 3rd with the president, Mrs. Leland Nelson, in the chair. y The meeting opened with the hymn W3 God. Our Help in Ages Past.” The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Malcolm Macxenzie, and Mrs. P. N. Young led in pray- r. Roll call was answered by thirteen members. and there was one visitor present. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary. Mrs. Malcolm MacKen- zie, and approved. Mrs. Nelson re- ported for the visiting committee. Treats had been taken to two sick members and two other visits were made during the month. The fin- ancial report was read by the treasurer. Miss Thelma Larter. Following a discussion. it was moved and seconded that the Guild would furnish the new church hall with either a. piano or organ and Mrs. Elsie watterworth and Mrs. Macxenzle were appointed on the committee to attend to this mat- ter. In the absence of Mrs. Cecil Back, the financial report for the year was read by Mrs. Nelson, who moved the adoption of the report. The sum of 510.00 was voted to- wards the Crippled Children's Fund. Plans-were discussed for holding a. sale of food on November 15th and Mrs. Wigglnton, Mrs. Lester Ma.cLeod and Mrs. Arnold VanId- erstlne were appointed in charge of arrangements. When the show concluded this evening George Callbeck of Suni- mcrsicle had nearly enough ribbons to cover the walls of a good sized room. In the two d:.ys Callbeck won two grand champions. five champion- ships, and four reserve champion- ships. Today his placings includ- ed an even dozen firsts, eight sec- onds, four thirds, four fourths and a fifth. Callbeck also made an out- standing showlng in the horse classes. This afternoon he took four firsts, it second, third, fourth and the reserve championship in the stallions. F. G. Cameron of Summersicle had a good day at the fox show. He showed the champion female in the pearl platlnums, the champ- ion glacler female, A. grand re- serve champion, and two reserve champions. He also won eight firsts, five seconds, three thirds, three fourths. a fifth and a sixth. Ernest T. Mill and son Clayton of Kensington made another very strong showing.
