night that a young woman had died in
this City in circumstances of want and
neglect, The Guardian found, upon
investigation, that the report of the deeith
was not true. The case however isons of
the most pathetic that has some within

A most enthusiastic Liheral~Ccnserva-
tive Convention was held in this City,
yesterday for the purpose of naming the
candidates to contest Best and West
Queens at the next Dominion election.
The present members Alex Martin, M.
P., and Angus McLean, M. P., were
unanimously nominated. There were
speeches by both gentlemen, and a
number of the delegates present spoke.
Several important resolutions were
passed regnrding the policy of the party
and other matters such as The Tunnel,
Good Government, An Experimental
Station, Graft, and The Postal Service.
The fins selling yacht Adrienne, in
which D H Robb, hsr owner, president of
the Robb Engineering company, was
sailing from Charlottetown to the Cum~
herland coast, on Sunday, with s party on
board, met with quite a serious mishap.
Those on board were: D W Robb captain;
Roland I-I Robb, mate; Mrs D H Robh
and daughter, Miss Vern; Miss Mable
Pugsley, Dr Gerald Bliss, and D
Wendell Robb, all oi Amherst.
The Adrienne left here last Sunday and ln
the afternoon met a strong head wind.
