     On a number of occassions 
     
     I have written about how 
     
     sports always provides us 
     
     with the unexpected.'Ihis 
     
     past week has been no ex— 
     
     ception.Our football Pan— 
     
    
   
   
    
     thers appeared. headed to— 
     
     wards a convincing win 
     
    
   
   
    
     over St.F.X.when all of a 
     
     sudden everything went 
     
     wrong.I attended that 
     
    

    
     game and can assure you 
     
     that we outplayed the 
     
    

    
     home team in the first half. 
     
    
   
   
    
     For a change the score in— 
     
    

    
     dicated just that,with 
     
    

    
     us leading I4-0.H.owever in 
     
    

    
     the second half it appeared 
     
    

    
     as if the X—men had the 
     
    

    
     ball the whole time.0ur 
     
    

    
     - defense,which I thought 
     
     was great,held the Anti— 
     
    

    
     gonishers on several oc— 
     
    

    
     casions inside the Panther 
     
    
   
   
    
     20 yard line.However,sooner 
     
     or later even brick walls 
     
     give way and eventually the 
     
     Xmen did score and went 
     
    

    
     on to win the squeaker IS—I4. 
     
    
   
   
    
     I can tell you that sitting 
     
     in tne stands I really felt 
     
     sorry for our guys.'Ihey 
     
    
   
   
    
     have lost so many close 
     
     games that they must re- 
     
     ally wonder if they will 
     
    
   
   
    
     ever break through . 
     
    
   
   
    
     Equally inexpecter was 
     
     the poor start that our 
     
     golf team got off to in the 
     
     first round of the AUAA 
     
     championships.As you may 
     
     recall I predicted that 
     
     we would win the title. 
     
    
   
   
    
     However,we were fortunate 
     
     to get it going on the 
     
     second day and finally 
     
     UPEI won a close one. 
     
    
   
   
    
     Another example of the 
     
     unexpected was the New En- 
     
     gland victory over the 
     
     Oakla 1d Raiders.It sure is 
     
     good to see that our guys 
     
     from the Boston area (and 
     
     Camedon Maine) have some?- 
     
     thing to cheer about. 
     
    
   
   
    
     As far as predictions r 
     
     for the upcoming week they 
     
     are as follows ;the Yankees 
     
     will win the Eastern div— 
     
     ision,our football Panthers 
     
     will blow U.N.B. right ‘ 
     
     out of Fredericton,and 
     
    
   
   
    
     .Ross Grimsley will become 
     
    
   
   
    
     the Expos first twenty - 
     
     game winner. . . 
     
    
   
   
    
     Finally,1ook ahead for 
     
     aseries on intercollegiate 
     
     athletics and where they are 
     
     headed,to be "in the SUN
