says the Convention was not as largely
attended as usual, owing to the fact that
the delegates had to pay their own ex-

for nurses of the Newport, R. I. Hospital,
which has been the Alina Mater of so
many provincial nurses, is few dnys
ago hold its graduation exercis-
es on the lawn, fnoing the Vander
bllt pavilion on Friendship street. The
exercises were attended by the trustees
of the corporation of tha Newport Hos-
pital, some of the clergy oi! the city,

Mr Logan, M. P. returned from Hall-
fax, whore he had been in consultation
with Dr Courtney, the eminent specialist
of Ottawa. His many friends will regret
to lonrn that Mr Logan's strength is not
returning as rapidly ns was hoped for and
his physician has ordered that he now go
away for a complete rest. He wlil, there-
fore, leave this week for the Canadian
West and expects to spend some time at
