It is a fac-simile copy fragmenta of old Mexican picture writings in the possession ofthe Royal Library at Berlin and is somewhat *imilar in workmanship and excu.ion-to the celebrated Codex Vaticanus, a copy of which has been presented to the University. These fragments were purchas: ed by Alexander von Humb ldt early in the century in Mexico, They prolably belong once to Boturni an antiqguary of Milan. They are of con- siderable importance for the study of the Mexician hieroglypic. Mostof them be Jong to the early part of the s:xteenth cen- tury and are of Christian origin.
