XXV. The warrant of attorney by law required to be taken by the Collector of Impost, in addi- tion to the recognizance directed to be entered into as security for the payment of duties of Impost and Excise, shall, as w«-ll as the defeasance there 11 to be erulorsed, be in the form of the Schedule to this Act annexed marked (8.), or in such other form as the lieutenant Governor, ? or other Administrator of the Government for the time being, in Council may, from time to time, direct. XXVI. It shall be competent and lawful for any of Her Majesty’s Queen’s Counsel in this Island,when called upon so to do,in the absence or in the event of the incapacity from illness of the Attorney or Solicitor General, or when either of those offices shall be vacant, to sign all necessary declarations, pleas, bail pieces and other papers required to be signed, in order to enter up judgment in Her Majesty’s Supreme Court fofJudieature, on any warrant of attorney heretofore taken by Collectors of Impost and Excise, in addition to the rec directed to be taken as security for the p of duties of Impost and Excise, notwithstanding t that such warrant of attorney shall be directed to: the Attorney and Solicitor General only ; also to; issue execution on the same, to take all necessary steps to perfect execution, and to acknowledge satisfaction under any such circumstances as; l ROYAL GAZETTE. ognizance by law aymcntr \ ) 18 received. XXVII. All warrants of Attorney which have heretofore been taken by Collectors of lmpast and :ldxcise, in addition to the recognizance by law directed to be taken as security for payment of the duties of Impost and Excise, shall, notwith- standing that the samc shall not, in all eases, be found to have been strictly taken in :‘tCGDI‘tllli'tCO ,with the directions contained in the statutes in force respecting the same, or the taking or form iof such warrants of Attorney be well and deemed ‘ to be good and valid, and to be sutiicient to enable and authorize judgment to be entered up thereon in ller Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature, as of the term of the said Supreme Court in Queen’s ,County, next prece ling the date of catering up judgment or otherwise, as the ease may be, and execution to be issued thereon for the recovery of the amount purporting to be secured thereby and by the recognizance taken at the same time therewith. XXVIII. Thetenth,twenty-fourth,forty—tourtli, fifty-third, fifty-fourth, sixty—first, sixty-scontl, sixty seventh, sixty—eighth, senventy—lifth and :e'ghty-first sections of the said hereinbefore :recited Act of the nineteenth Victoria, tihaptcr ’one, shall be out the same are hereby repealed. l XXIX. Any Collector of I'mpast and Excise iwho shall neglect or omit to administer any of he oaths prescribed in and by the twenty-fifth, thirty-seventh, forty—ninth, seventicth-and seven— ty-second sections of the hereinbcforerecitedAct of the nineteenth Victoria, Chapter one, and in sand by any of the sections of this Act, shall, for i each and every such neglect or omission, forlei‘ and Q pay into the Treasury of this lslanl the sum of fifty onunds, for the use of Her Majesty’s Government, l t l l fto. be recovered in the Supreme Court of Judica- lture, in Her Majesty’s name, in an; action of debt ion the oath of a credible witness l l XXX. All Collectors of Impost, now or here- la-fter to be appointed, shall, on rendering ajust land true account of, and paying into the Treasury of this Island, all moneys received by them under 'and by virtue of the provisions of this Act, and on thei ‘ accounts being certified as correct by thy.) Auditors of Public Accounts, be paid by warrant drawn by the Lieutenant Governor in t‘ou—neil on the Treasury of this Island, an amount equal to five pounds per centum on all moneys reeeivcd and paid over by such Collectors of Impost under this Act, except the Collectors. of Impost for
