FEAST OF PATRON SAlNT.-Sun-
day was the feast of St. Aloysius, the
patron Saint of thc League..of the
Cross. At 3.30 in the afternoon the
members of this society assembled
in St. Dunstan's_ Cathedral, where a
sermon was delivered by Rev. Father
Poirier, after which Benediction was
given by Rev. Frank McQuaid.

of Charlottetown to the number of
about sixty held a church parade on
Sunday evening, a number of them
going to St. James` church and a num-
ber to St. Dunstan‘s. ln all parts of

WOMENS AUXILIARY V_ M. C.
A.-The closing meeting for the sum-
mer of the Women’s Auxiliary of the
Y. M. C. A. took place on Saturday'
ut’ the usual -time 'and place. There
was ii lai~i.:e number present with some
new members. The treasurer read re-
ports of the different efforts put forth
for making money to repair the build-
ing, which was very satisfactory.
During the four months after all bills
were paid we have to our credit
$450.00. During that time we install-
ed a -kitchen complete in every res-
pect. Passed over $100 .to the men
for running expenses of Y. M. C. A.
Donated 540 chocolate bars for the Ar-
tillery Aid and two beautiful boquets.
Also gave a hoquet to over one hund-
red fathers and sons, and sent several
lar-ge boxes of cake to the soldiers
in barracks. Votes of thanks were
given to the cast of "Right Oh"fals`o to
all the merchants and others for their
kindly help. Beer & Weeks being es-
pecially mentioned as they furnished
all the spledid furnishings for thc
stage. Prof. Earle for his generous
glfe of $12.50. All were delighted
with the results of Right '"0h. Mr.
-E-lwln and the president Mrs.Doiill did
the financial business, neither of them
handling any of the fifnds So every

Mr. and Mrs. John T. While. of
Cornwall, received a. telegram on Sat-
urday morning announcing the death
of their son Ethan, as a result of
gunshot wounds. His death took place
on June 14th, the day»~.ori which he
was wounded. He was 36 YBHFS Of
age. Ethan is the second son who
has made the supreme sacrifice, and
the sorrowing parents and sisters and
brother have the deep sympathy of all
who know them.
