Lee Brewer C... own- ed and driven by Emmett Bernard of Hunter River. lived up to his former reputation as a lroiier of many surprises and powerful per- formances when he clipped off firsts in the fourth and eighth races over a strong six-horse field. The Brewer went out in front early on both occasions to build up long leads which although cut down by the time the finish wire was in sight. was never headed by the rest of the field.
