In the three contested wards, the old members, two in each ward, were again the candidates, with one ne ¥ aspirant in each ward The result was that in King’s Ward Barnes and O’Brien were re-elected. [a Wellington, Wilkins a new man, defeated Dr. White who has sat with Alderman Shaw for the ward for two years; in Brook's ex-Alderman Lockhart de- feated Davies, oue of last year’s aldermen. Twenty-three of the twenty-six members of last year’s council have been re-elected, one retired and two were defeated. The Lucy P. Miller, a steamer of the New York and St. John line, bound here trom New York with a heavy cargo and a good list of passengers, went ashore yesterday on the Maive coast at Little Manan. BRANTEORD, March 20 —The Expositor last week published an article on the case of Archie Rymal, of this city,which has caused consider abie excitement in Brantford and district. It appears Mr. Rymal has had more than his share of suffering during the past few years, so far was he run down from kidney disease that he had lost the power of his limbs and back. He could only get around with the aid of two crutches, or when assisted by kind hands. His death was daily expected.
