The Haverhill Bulletin thus describes the accident : ‘lhe unfortunate young man was seen coming through Munro Street, and when he reached Market Street the railway crossing gates had been closed. He seemed in a hurry, and was on his way to Broad Street, where he worked, When he arrived at the gates the by- standers noticed his excited manner, but did not expect but what he would wait forthe train to pase before attempting to cross the track. The express train was late and was running at fast speed to make up time, Lynn being the first place where a stop is made. The train was bearing down on the crossing when the man startled the onlookers by crawling under the gates. They hailed him and shouted loud for him to retrace bis steps, but ke did not heed the warning. He had reached the centre of the rails of the inward track, when he waa struck by the coweatcher of the engine and burled violently into the air, striking against Ruseell’s fish market building, and then the bedy dropped into a pile of stones. He was picked up uncon scious and taken to the City Heepital, where he soon died. Every Lady Knows that pretty Lace Curtains add greatly to the appearance of a room.
