This would not.have been possible without the assistance of a 1ot of good people. A lot of long weary hours went into Carnival '77, and anytime I needed ehlp there was always someone there. I would especially like to thank - Claire Currie, Mike MacMahon and Jim Picone. Claire was ALWAYS there when something had to be_done. Claire spenct more time in the of- fice than anyone else and was usually the only person I could count on when I needed help the mornings after the pubs and bashes. Mike was responsible for the afternoon pubs being such a success. The talent and fashion shows, the Midget Basketball game, Carnival Raffle and his unlimited supply of jokes made Mike practically indispensible. Jim was the wheels of the organization,_he was our gopher. Unfortunately, Jim had an accident with his _ car last week when we were taking the Cadre up to the printers in Summerside. Jim was in charge of the audio visual equipment, he helped with the setting up and cleaning of the gym and he was in charge of the advertising committee. Deb McMurdo, Chairman of the Social Committee was another valuable member of the Executive. 'Deb & Peter MacQuaid, our book- ing agent did a great job in hiring and looking after all the bands.‘ Deb was also in charge of ticket sales and having people to work at the doors. ‘ Heather Stevenson worked on the Advertising Com—. mittee, the Fashion Show, Queen Committee. Kathy Connolly, another important member of the Executive, put in a lot of hours for Carnival '77/ Kathy & Betty Brown were in charge of sculptures, " kissing booth, fashion show 'JUdges and list of other jobs.- This-list could go On for pages. Many groups and organizations were of- tremendous help. A very Very special thanks to: ‘Maurice Rodgerson and his Radio StatiOIlCIeW. Thanks to Bill all events ran smoothly and with very little hassle. -Donnie Read; head -bartender also deserves a big thanks. There were a lot of bars and a lot of beer to be hauled around.‘ After all, without beer there would'nt. have been a Carnival. ’ -Brian McKenna and the Junior Class, who had one of the biggest jobs, that was cleaning up the gym after x. the Bash on Friday night. Brian and his crew finish— ed about 4:30 in the morning. Thanks again Brian. —Kevin Newman and the senior. class did a great job of decorating the COnfederation Centre. - Gary Heald, Murray Steven— son and Buddy Quinn for ‘ gall their help, and faith in us, when we were booking the gym and signing contracts. -Debbie MacDonald and Gail Murphy for looking after the princess, the judging, . the afternoon teas and the crowning. -The princess for all.the time they spent at the interviews, events and the ball. ' —Tina Madin for looking after the booking of the Confederation Centre —Lis Burke for running the Carnival Button sales. -Jim Picone and Heather Stevenson and their crew for looking after the advertising Committee. - Gordie MacAlpine & :Mike Halub for their "disco' and also for the inter— residence party. —Kenhy "Enginee"Adams for always being around when we had electrical and sound problems. -Andy Gallant & Garth Reeves and the Audio Visual Dept. for their sound equipment and also fro providing the movies. —Jon Paul MacIntyre for setting up and running the Car Rally. - Karen MacDonald, Margat Yuill and everyone else. on the Paster Committee! You did a good job girls. —Aggie Reddin, Sue Hornby ,and everyone else that helped with the pre—sale of tickets. —Mickey Place our Business Manager who helped us with, many great ideas and who was our "Money Man". —Mariella she did our typing, correspondence and' answered hundreds of phone calls and listened to my complaining for the last wo months. —Derek, Alan, Paul and Lis, the Student Union Exec. and the tremendous amount of support I got from them. -The Basketball and hockey teams for providing us with some great games. (sorry we couldn't have had you home for more of carnival.) —To all my forgiving Profs, because I haven't been to a class for the last two weeks. —Brian Hurlock and his cafeteria staff for Grease Night and also for running the arm—wrestling contest and buying the trophies.
