     five of us could fit into

     Or is it going to the movies,

     Is it bright red soil 
     
    
   
   
    
     -On a warm summer day; 
     
     - Or waking up after a storm, 
     
     And shovelling out your driveway? 
     
    
   
   
    
     Is it meeting people 
     
    
   
   
    
     From far, far away; 
     
    
   
   
    
     Or getting to know the person 
     
     ~ Who lives just across the highway? 
     
    
   
   
    
     Is it fast, fast cars

     Or a wandering path, 
     
    
   
   
    
     Beckoning you to tales of old? 
     
     Maybe it’s the local church, 
     
     Or the little red schoolhouse; 
     
     Or perhaps it’s a man going through life,

     But what does the Island mean'to me, you say? 
     
    
   
   
    
     Well, I have only one answer to shout: 
     
     In the face of trials and hardships; 
     
     In the face of adversity and strife: 
     
    
   
   
    
     Its people have only to remember that they are
