The grand secret of advertising is repetition. Iteration and reiteration compel attention. An occasional ad- vertisement is barely sufficient to keep the advertisers pame trom falling into the great receptuble of utterly forgetten things. Constant, steady, persistent, habitual, and ubiquitous advertising, keeping a certain fact before the eye of the public at all times and in all places, is one of the stepping-stenes of suc- cess in modern business, in factit is the stepping-stone. Where, says a leading trade Journal, there is so much Vigorous Opposition and sharp competi- tion, the’ purchasing public cannot possibly hear your invitation to come and toot your owa horn loud and con- tinuously. They cannot discover your whereabouts unless your advertising flagis always floating in tha breeze. They cannot feel your attractive in- fluence unless you make them feel it by spreading it in all directions through the magnetic influence of the press. By, continuous dropping in the same spot a light drill will penetrate deeply into the hardest rock, whereas the seat- tering blows of the heaviest sledge will have scarcely any effect. The three P’s of successful advertising are Per~ sistent, Perspicacious Persuasion. The Poultry Yard. Poultry is the most profiteble kind of live stock kept on the farm, according to the investment required, provided it is judiciously selected and properly cared fer. With tle same degree of attention that we bestow upon our cattle and swine, they will pay a two or three fold profit. But they must be cared for, must be kept under control, and must have enough suitable food without being forced to scratch for it in your neighbour’s or your own garden. They must have reasonably roomy and clean, wholesome apartments and ground to roam in. It is recommended that oata be ® soaked sufficiently to swell them before feeding stock. Ground oats are in } proper condition at all times, but mill- ers are nol partie] to grinding oats, and many farmers feed them unground, when soaked the husk is partly torn away ,and facility of digestion inereased. Poultry will carefully pick out the soaked grains from the dry when alowed a preference in the matter. <<. fhe Great French Remedy, Dr, LeDuc’s Periodical Pills. By its use light or red hair may be darkened, thin hair thickened, and baldness often, though uot always, cured. It checks falling of the hair, and stimu- lates a weak and sickly growth to vigor. It prevents and cures seurf and dandraff, and heals nearly every disease peculiar to the scalp. As a Ladies’ Hair Dressing, the ViGor is unequalled; it contains neither oi) nor dye, renders the hatr soft, glossy, and silken in appearance, and imparts a delicate, agreeable, and lasting perfume, Mr. C. P. Bricner writes from Kirby, 0. July 3, 1882: ** Last fall my hair commence falling out, and in a short time I became nearly bald. I wsed part of a bottle of AYER’S HAIR VIGOR, which stopped the fall- ing of the hair, and started a new growth. I have now a full head of bair growing vigor- ously, and am convinced that but for the use of your preparation I should have been entirely bald.” - J. W. BowEN, proprietor of the McArthur (Ohio) Enquirer, says : “* AYER’S HAIR VIGOR is a most excellent preparation for the hair. I speak of it from my own experience, Its use promotes the growth of new hair, and makes it glossy and soft. The V1GOR is also a sure cure for dandruff. Not within my knowledge has the preparation ever failed to'give entire satisfaction.” Mr. ANGUS FAIRBAIRN, leader of the celebrated “ Fairbairn Family’ of Scottish Vocalists, writes from Boston, Mass., Feb. 6, 1880: ‘* Ever sinee my hair began to give sil- very evidence of the change which fleeting time procureth, I have used AYER’S HAIR Vicor, and so haye, been able to maintain an appearance of youthfulness —a matter of eonsiderable consequence to ministers, ora- tors, actors, and in fact every one who lives in the eyes of the public.” Mrs. O. A. Prescott, writing from 18 Elm St., Charlestown, Mass., April 14, 1882, says: * Two years ago about two-thirds of my hair came otf. It thinned very rapidly, and I was fast growing bald. On using AYER’s HAIR Vieor the falling stopped and a new growth commenced, and in about a month my head was completely covered with short hair. It has continued te grow, and is new as good as before it fell. 1 regularly used but one bottle of the Vicor, but now use it occasionally as a dressing.”’ We have hundreds of similar testimonia’s to the efficacy of Ayrr’s HAIR Vicor. It needs but a trial to convince the most skepti- cal of its value. ———— PREPARED BY Dr. J.C. Avorn é: Oo., Lowell, Mass. W.
