A crowd of about 1,000 looked on. A. G. Scott. beat out Argot Pointer in stretch drives both times. The Pointer was not to be denied in the third heat, however.I Is. he lead the Scott home to the wire. Filbert. driven by Joe Hennes- sey of Charlottetown. went the fastest mile of the afternoon as he took the second heat of the No. I classified in 2.12. Filbert won the class honors taking the sec- ond and third heats after Silk Hall with Roach MacGregor in the sulkie won the first in 2.12 1-5. Harold Stead had Calumet On- ward in good form to win the No. 2 classified by taking the first two heats of the class. The Stead driven horse came from third place to take the first heat but lead all the way in the second. Miss Commando, who finished second in the first two heats won the third in 2.17. A total of seventeen horses lined up for the 2.30 trot and pace. The class was divided into two sections with nine horses racing in one section and eight in the other. The first five winners of each section raced in heat to de- cide the winner of the class. Mary Merck, driven by Sem- ple emerged the victor, winning the second heat and the race oif in the third.
