On its west side is Victoria Park-a favorite summer resort-while onthe east are the magnificent new Exhibition Buildings and Driving Park. Chief among its public squares is Queen Square in the centre of the city, beauti- fully laid out with blooming plants of every description, fountains, and well arranged walks, and enlivened with a band of music during the summer even- ings.
