Hatrrax, Dec. 19. Seven men were drowned at 10 o’clock to-night, by the collapse of a wharf upon which 2,000 tons of coal were being stored. The cargo of the steamer Oakdean, char- tered by Cunard & Co., was being dis- charged on their south wharf. The wharf was being roofed.in, and it was intended to all winter. The work carried (n store the coal there } of discharging was beirg night and day. Fally half the cargo had been placed on the whart, when at ten o'clock forty feet of the strue- ture under the ceutre of the coal heap gave away. Ten men were at work on the spxt wheeling and trimming at the moment cf the collapse. Withvutthe slightest warn ing the spiles and flooring gave awey ind the centre of the coal heap gave away.
