Mr. Phillips reported that sat- isfactory progress is being made With regard to the minstrel show which will be staged in the near future. The guest speaker was Connor- al Don Wannamaker who was, capably introduced by Lorne Wig- ‘ zinton. Corporal Wannamaker gave an interesting talk on ghost car traffic policy. This was fol- lowed by a showing of colored films and slides taken by him- self in different parts of Canada. He was thanked for this splendid program by Arnold Wightman. On behalf of the association, Horace Fraser exipressed appre- ciation to the ladies who provid- ed the supper. Rev. J.M. Fraser closed the meeting with the ben- ediction. WHIM ROAD Mr. and Mrs. Webb Nicholson held the weekly meeting of the Whim Road Farm Foruim group at. their home on Monday eve- ning. A very enjoyable evening was spent and at the close Mrs. Nicholson served a delicious lunch. The next meeting is to be at Cecil Campbell's. Mrs. Jeanette MacDonald of Brooklyn, formerly of Whim Road. was pleased indeed to wel- -come home her daughter, Mrs. George Toombs. accompanied by her husband and ‘three small ions. Mr. Toombs has been em- ployed in the air fields of Al- berta and they will spend their vacation on Prince Edward Is- land. LITTLE SANDS.’ Residents here were sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Dun- can Maccallum, Pic-tou Island. His friends here feel theyhave lost. a very dear friend. _ Little Miss Pauline Richards re- turned to her home in Little Sands about March 12th. Pauline‘ had been a patient in the Montague hospitalpat first, then in the P.E. Island Hospital, Charlottetown, from March 3. 1957 to March 12, 1958- , . .- .. . , .‘ She spent over a year 1 , hospital, and Little Sanders are most happy to welcome her back to her home here and to know she has recovered from her sev- ere burns and is able to be out around. Word has been received 09' Mrs. A. Blue, of the illness of her sister Mary. Mrs. William B. Conrad in -Detoit, Michigan. Mrs. . Conrad took flu then pleurisy and pneaumonia develohed. This con- dition has cleared up but Mrs- Conrad is still suffering from ul- cers. Her relatives here and in Albion and Sturgeon and other parts of P.E. Island will be sor- ry to hear this.
