The Panthers lost only one player, but that player was their top guard Delroy Adams. Stepping in to take over for Adams will be fifth year player Alonzo Wright. With Acadia’s loss of Kevin Venoit to Cancer for the year UPEI and Dal took to fight out for top spot all year. The Panthers recieved a big boost this year when Curtis Brown returned to fulfill his elegi- bility. Brown will be looked upon to relace AUAA all-star Steve Ring who decided to leave the Panthers last year. - 1988-89 Preview If the Panthers are to be suc- cessful these will be players who will be looked upon to play key roles: Peter Gordon- a third year player who came into his own last year looks to get better. At times Gordon looks to be unstop- pable. He will certainly be looked upon to do much of the scoring. Dave Dunn- The Panthers tallest player at 6’5” again will have to fight it out with, in many cases, much taller players. He was voted the players most improved player and could be a very key player. Curtis Brown - He will undoubt- edly help the Panthers at the guard spot. He will also be looked to take up the slack in scoring due to the departure of Steve Ring. Alonzo Wright - The fifth year player will be taking over for departed guard Delroy Adams. Wright who has experience at the one spot should be able to make the transition. He will be a key figure all year long. Mark Roberts - Also a fifth year player. Could possibly see time at center. Had great year last year. Will be looked to, to provide not only leadership but inside scoring. Brett Wood - A third year player who gradually has shown improvement over the past two third spot. Masters — Lothar Zimmerman (2nd) years. Coach Morrison thinks his time has arrived and should see lots of floor time. Dennis Smith - A_ highly touted rookie from Toronto has potential to be another Mike Morgan says Morrison. Nick- named Air Wolf for his incredible jumping ability. Morrison thinks he will be the only rookie with key impact possibilities. The rest of the Panthers Duncan Shaw - Third year player who could see time at cen- ter. Worked out extensively all summer long to improve. May 2 Womens Sabre Johanna Eliot Cora-lee DesRock surpise people. Bobby O’Brien - Second year player. Shows flashes of brilliance at times. Could quite well be. key con- tributer of this bench if he shakes nagging ankle injury. At this time appears fully healthy. Darryl Fynch - Rookie guard. Net eligible until Christmas. Great ballhandler could possibly fit into plans later in year. Mark Cameron - Another rookie guard. At present time ‘getting used to system. Down the road could be a valuable member. Bobby Messun - Second year student, did not make team last year. Look good this year. { AGROBIC EXERCISE 3 tIm~STRUCTIONAL CLASS 4 | AL?
