LAURIER SAUMUR Sunday afternoon Mr. L. Saw mur will deliver the public ad- dress “‘A Paradise Earth Through God’s Kingdom” as the highlight of the. assembly. Mr. Saumur has been associated with the Watch Tower Society as a full- time minister for the past 13 years. In 1947 he graduated from the Watch Tower Bible School of Gilead which js situated near South Lansing, New York. After returning to‘Canada Mr. Saumur served in the Province of Quebec as. a circuit super- visor until he was appointed to the position of district super- visor 2 years ago. Since thea he has been, taking the oversight of the preaching activities of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Mari. times, Eastern Ontario, and the Province of Quebec. L. All Welcome No Collection . om THE WATCHTOWER Circulated in 175 lands and islands of the seas in 54 languages and 3,600,000 copies each issue (which totals up to an astronomical 86,400,000 copies annually), The Watchtower magazine occupies a vantage point from which it observes the happertings of today. The Watchtower magazine sees things scripturally. When it sees this generation afflietéd with greed, delinquency, hypocrisy, atheism, war, famine, pestilence, etc., it does not parrot the old fable about history re- peating itself. Informed by Bible prophecy, it sees in these things the sign of the world time of the end. But with bright hope it also gees opening up for us just beyond these woes the portals of a new world. Thus viewed, “The Watchtower” stands as a watchman atop a tower, awake to note signs of danger, faithful to point out the way of escape. It announces Jehovah’s Kingdom established by Christ’s enthronement in peaveh. “Be watchful in these perilous times,” God admonishes. So keep on the watch by regularly reading “The Watchtower.” ROAD Biography of MR. WILLIAM JOHNSON Mr. Wm. Johnson of Toronto, travelling in the capacity of cir- cuit supervisor, visits 10 congre- gations on Cape Breton Island and 6 congregations on Prince _Edward Island. He thus has oversight of 475 minisiers of Jehovah's Witnesses and their preaching activities. Mr. John- son has been an ordained min- ister of the Watch Tower Society for 17 years and has. travelled extensively in his -ministerial service. At the assembly in Charlottetown he will serve as assistant to Mr. L. Saumur in caring for the mechanical part of the assembly where some 2 departments will be in opera> tion caring for convention needs. WHO ARE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES? An internationally known religious denomination with representatives in 175 countries and islands of the seas, Jehovah's Witnesses, through the medium of the Bible are bring- ing hope to people of good will across the face of the earth. In these days of ever-threat- ening nuclear war, in which the destruction of the world seems imminent, the wonderful prospect of a world at peace, under righteous rule, is opened up through Bible knowledge. Why is it that Jehovah's Witnesses use so many different methods to preach the good news of God's Kingdom? Like Jesus, they believe that the Kingdom message deserves the most effective preaching methods. Not strange then, that these Christian Witnesses are often seen im public places of- fering Bible literature and telling about the Kingdom. Not strange then is the use of the public meeting. Jesus often used this method. His most famous sermon of all, the sermon on the mount, was given in open air on a moun- tainside. Indeed. wherever Christ found people, that is where he preached. Not strange then that they call at your door. The apostle Paul speaking to the older men from the congregation of Ephesus, told them: “I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house,” (Acts 20:20). Truly house-to-house preaching is a Christlike and apostolic method! Jehovah's Witnesses take, this opportunity to thank the officials and businessmen of Charlottetown for their kind co-operation and to extend to the people of Prince Edward Island a most hearty weicome to attend any and all the sessions, which are free. ‘ : ’ ~ i ia i ia ll rete eraser sees <a erate eeantenrsveneaeer nan ate iaat eae aUeeaneenetieeaanimusasamenies ‘ = - ee “a 4 Loe we - =i eee Be Be se (Me } + | Leitch 1130 146 ‘ae 1” —ie a. ‘4 A i ei ie iLL Lae lie 210 210 ne* —3 | Lorade 20 2% 2% 244M Lauvict se .6UstmlUC kt ' +8 | Lyndbst me 6S h6UlUS s Macdoa = — % | Mactie +— ila i alee MacLeod 16 105 ie; —t | Mwrises se cS DS 3 —WiMageet 100 6% 6 66 — % — Me | Malartie mus 14 14 4 — iMan Bar = 6) 30g ~@ |Maritime 14200 121 Ml m2 —4 —3 | Martin boo ms nN HN —IM — 4 | Matatch oo mn ; Maytrun 3D Sh +4 (Continue? on Page 15) |
