MAY 16.1535 A p‘? ulna" rut " ‘giiiiiioiiilllllliiiil ust A: explained by Dr. Davis t/ERY (LAREFULLY CARRIED OUT SERIES OF TESTS Soilgro in fairly rich soil with wheat, oats, barley and corn, wed an increased yield over the same grain crops not treated, [mm 24 to 38 per cent. They also matured earlier and were much better quality than the untreated. gRN WHICH HAD BEEN TREATED, ripened in a section . Northern Manitoba where it had not been known to ripen be- re, and the half of the field, not treated, did not ripen but was . t green. . FIELD 0F OATS NEAR TORONTO which was treated with oilgro, showed a largely increased yield over an adjoining field t treated, while a field of ensilage corn North of Toronto, show- . an increase of well over 5o per cent. greater than the next field ich was not treated. i FIELD OF WHEAT IN HURON COUNTY which was treat- . with Soilgro was said to be one of the fittest ever grown in hat section. ' ITII POTATOES THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN VERY ATISFACTORY. We saw one large patch half of which had en treated and half not. in mid-season the treated plants were ully twice as la-rge and vigorous as the untreated; and at the em‘ l the season, when harvested, there were more and larger tuber:- roin the treated than from the others. Many other users have eported similar results, Mr. George Baldwin, of 'l‘oronto. oni l the best known Canadian hot ticulturists, gives his experience ll. is letter in our book of testimonials. ALL KINDS OF FIELD CROPS require practically the sata. plant food as our garden crops, and wnile soil and climate condi- tions may vary the exact increase in yield from the use of Soilgro the results. are much the same with field crops as with the garden THE CHARLOTTETOWN GUARD! 1N ~PATQ. edding Sale J . llfiilhliéfi Annual ---May 16th to the 23rd»- ,0; hum», n+4"- t Wholesale Prices on all BedsuSprlngs--Mattresses not Offered as Specials F ular, price Metal Bed Outfit. To got the best results the seed should be treated before planting. The, cost ofhSoilgro in quantity is so moderate that the grain grower can well afiord to use it unspar ingly. Where Soilgro is used the estimated increase in crops i: irom to to 50 per cent., depending upon soil and climatic condi- tions. A-ll seeds treated with Soilgro, on test, have germinated in about one-third less time than untreated seeds. Soiigro treatment lot only accelerates and increases growth ‘but it improves thcl luality of the product. For example, to grow a much finer qualityl of. wheat means much tothd farmtr. ~ _ Follow for grain seeds the general directions, allowing sulfi- eient time while the seeds are immersed in the Soilgro solution for them to soften, and for the bacteria to become attached to thel seeds. But do fl0l leave them immersed long enough lo permit gar-l mmall mi. , Let the seeds dry out after this in a wami shady place on I dry surface’, spreading them out in thin layers. Seeding should be proceeded with as soon as the seeds are dry enough to go through the drill seeder. FOR THE DAIRY FARMER Soilgro is most excellent for pasture growths. Soilgro l: so inexpensive that the dairy farmer can use it on his pasture land and get increased crops of alfalfa, clover, hay, etc. Treatment is the same as for lawns, by spraying with the diluted solution of Soiigro. Periodical applications, particularly in times of drought. will insure permanently green pastures. FOR THE GROWER OF ROOT CROPS Soimizo gives a much better yield with much finer quality For Seeds r-Same directions as for vegetables above. For Plantsz-Sanie directions as for transplanting. v FOR THE FRUIT GROWER: SoiLcao is excellent for tree, vine and bush fruits. In setting out fruit trees, bushes and plants, if roots are first treated with Soiuiito, a much smaller percentage of the shrubs will be lost Spray the ground frequently with SOILGRO diluted solution. When setting out strawberry plants, for instance, if the roots are first soaked over night in SOILGRO, the majority of the plants wii net droop and fade. but will begin a healthy growth. In mun) cases strawberry plants set out with SOILGRO treatment will beat f1 fair crop the first year. The berries are large and juicy, ripen 111g about a week earlier than untreated fruit. This week ahead on the market is very valuable to the grower. SOlLGRO will pro duce more and finer fruit from fruit trees. For Seeds :—Same directions as for Vegetables. _ For Plants :-—~Same directions as for Transplanting. FOR POTATOES Potatoes will thrive m SOILGRO. just as vegetables gen trally and root crops are benefited by the timely application‘ o: sllll-GRO, a much larger potato, and with an increased yield, ha~ bsen obtained following the use of SOILGIO.
