Friday morning Reeves who had noticed that a big slide had come down on the south side of Springer 0reek,at the Regina claim, became somewhat alarmed and went up to the Prince and found that Joe had not arrived. Thinking that perhaps he might have gone to some other claim Reeves and Leo Doircn, a brother of the missing man, journeyed to the Bank of England thence over the hill to the Hampton and across to the Spgculator, ilnnlng no trace of Joe. Then the alarm was given and it was felt certain the poor fellow had been caught in the Regina slide. The two men journeyed nn down to the Arlington and there met the men from the Black Prince. The ski marks of the missing man were followed Lo the slide, but there all traces were lost. That night, the men worked diligently by lantern light to find some trace of Joe, being joined next day by all the men from the Bank perties until there were 62 men at one time employed. .hturday morning many a second piece was discovered farther down.
