RED SHI*EI.D SERVICES EXTENDE Thirteen Grade II Pupils Graduate At O’Leary High -A program of songs by the Classes was the entenainment fer- ture of the Olosing Exercises of O’Leary School, Wednesday eve- ning, June 18th, in the O’Leary ' Hall. A full to overflowing attendance watched the children receive their awards; which were pre- sented by their respective teach- ers. Mr. Lewis MacKenzie, Prin- cipal, read the ratings. Thirteen Grade Eleven pupils marched on stage for their Glos- ing Exercises and Farewell to their Alma Mater —- unless Grade Twelve be allowed to this com- mnnity. The Salutatory was read by Mr . Vance Griffin, who express- ed this hope. He thanked all those who sacrificed so that this Class could have the advantage of Grade Eleven. Miss Nancy Campbell was the Valedictorian. She stressed the importance of education; an ed- ucated youth is a country's great- est asset and potential. Sfhe thank- ed the teachers and all, who helped them to this day. Island Hymn and Farewell Dear Alma Mater were sung by the class. The Rev. Heber Kean ad- dressed the graduates in an in- spiring manner and was thanked by Mr. Earle Jelly. Mr. Lewis MacKenzie presided during the evening. ’ inspected the work of the chil- dren and visited with the teacher then on into the tea room.
